I haven’t celebrated Halloween in years. I was a very unoriginal and uncreative witch a couple of times as a kid (white face paint, black toga, black pointy hat, and my black leather school shoes) and I’ve gone around the neighborhood trick or treating maybe three times in my life… but that’s it. Halloween isn’t really a big deal for me unlike some people who celebrate it well past their childhood. I know Halloween is a huge event for others so here are a couple of treats (no tricks) for you.

First, are you on Twitter? Because I am. And I have a nice, Halloween-y Twitter background with smiling pumpkins and candy corn.

Want it? You got it.

Just right-click on the image above, save to your computer and in your Twitter settings, go to the Design tab and change your background image, pointing your browser to the image file you just saved. Be sure to turn on tiling.

Don’t have Twitter (what’s wrong with you)? No worries, you can also set the image above as your desktop background in your OS settings. Again, don’t forget to turn on tiling. Or you can download wallpaper fit for your screen resolution:

I cleaned up my files and folders on my desktop just for this screen grab so you better go download. However if Halloween is not your thing, I have regular, non-holiday wallpapers over on my Downloads section and I’m looking to add more to those if time permits. In the meantime, happy Halloween!

I’ve made a few embroidery patterns for Sew It’s For You’s Etsy shop and we’ve decided to make a new pattern available for download just in time for St. Patrick’s Day. We don’t celebrate St. Patrick’s Day here in the Philippines so I had to ask Julie what the holiday involves. “St. Patrick’s Day is an Irish holiday,” she said. “Loads of 4 leaf clovers, leprechauns, green beer, pots of gold, rainbows, drunk ass people…” O-kay, got it! I wasn’t sure I wanted to draw “drunk ass people” on something that might possibly be embroidered on baby burp cloths, so here’s an adorable, family-friendly St. Patrick’s Day PDF pattern for you, free! You can use it as an embroidery pattern or print it out as a coloring page for your kids (or yourself).

I like the little bear dude a lot (he’s a character I’ve been drawing since my college days– I will have to dig out my early 2002 sketches of him when he looked a lot different from today) so I colored him digitally and turned him into a nice wallpaper also free for download.

Click to download the image above as a desktop wallpaper at the following sizes:
1024 x 768
1280 x 800
1440 x 900

Enjoy!

Illustration Friday: Canned

Gryffindor Green Peas? What the hell? When did Hogwarts start producing canned peas? Actually, I was working on the Gryffindor badge (without the green peas!) for a little project of mine when I remembered I didn’t have anything for IF yet. I decided to make a can label out of the house badge to wrap around a can to fit IF’s topic for the week. So I added the green peas banner and tada, problem solved.

Here’s a bigger version of the logo without the distortion:
