I was asked by my friend Bimbo to plug his newly-published children’s book At Muling Ngumiti si Haring Araw (And Mr. Sun Smiled Again), a short story about global warming that will appeal to kids without the preachy lectures that usually come when the topic of global warming is brought up. This one reads like a charming tale, a heartfelt conversation between the sun and a caring little boy who cares for his friends and his environment. The original story is by Bimbo Papasin, illustrated by his brother Guy, and is published by Katha Publishing Co., Inc. It is distributed by Goodwill Bookstore.

Bimbo has other books for children already lined up with Goodwill for publication, one of which I illustrated. Can’t show you any final art just yet until it’s published but we’ll let you know when it’s out. In the meantime, grab a copy of Haring Araw now!

My shirt design up for scoring on Threadless

A little over a week ago I submitted my Monster Sushi illustration for a t-shirt design over at Threadless. It’s been approved for scoring and I would really appreciate it if you head on over there to vote! A high overall score helps the Threadless team in deciding which shirts to print and a printed design wins the designer $2000 freakin’ dollars. That’s big money when converted to Pesos; equivalent to around seven months worth of rent on my condo!

So please vote and vote 5 ;) You will need to register after voting (if you don’t already have an account with them) to make your vote count. Registering isn’t that much of a drag because Threadless is a cool site anyway where you can rate fantastic shirt designs and if they get printed, you have the option to buy the shirt(s) you voted for.
