Sarah of Salad for Breakfast has drawn the winner of the Notebooks, Etc. giveaway on her blog. In Sarah’s words: “I’m so pleased that this giveaway had such a huge turnout! This one racked over 100 entries in less than 10 hours from being launched…craziness I tell you!” So thank you! The winner, in a draw made by Sarah:

#165 is Bill And Lorie Shewbridge!

Congratulations! I already have your mailing address and will be getting your prize out to you soon.

I am floored to have over 300 comments on that particular post and reading the comments was insightful as a shop owner– I know what people like and would like to see more of in my shop. I am particularly thrilled to know that my non-kawaii drawings (in particular, the squirrel and the hot air balloons) are receiving as much love as my anthropomorphic kawaii illustrations. It encourages me to draw more things for my own personal enjoyment/satisfaction and not be so much of a sell out with the tried and tested commercial stuff. Haha.

With over 300 comments on that post (384 to be exact), I felt it would be a shame to have only one winner. So with Sarah’s permission, I went ahead to pick another number using random.org’s Random Number Generator to win a consolation prize.

Congratulations, Aik! Please respond to my e-mail within 48 hours or I may pick another winner :)

Thank you to everyone who participated in my first giveaway and a huge thank you to Sarah from Salad for Breakfast for hosting it!

And by the way, WEDGIENET.NET turns eight years old today! Happy birthday, domain! This website has actually been inactive longer than it has had real content (I started updating this site again only last year, after years and years of inactivity and “Under construction, please check back soon” front pages) but I am trying my best to keep this blog updated with new work. I have updates and new images coming in the next few days!

Readers, we have a giveaway.

Woot!

I am giving away a set of sushi stationery to 1 lucky person who leaves a comment on this particular post on Salad for Breakfast. Just read the full details and mechanics of the contest on that site and join away… Sarah of SFB will be using a random number generator to pick a winner but I might just pick out another consolation prize winner myself. Wink, wink!

This contest runs until July 9th and is open to EVERYONE. Goodluck!

Also check out the Google Friend Connect widget thingee I installed on the right sidebar. What it does is it lets you “follow” my blog and receive new posts right on your Blogger dashboard/Google Reader when I update! That means you don’t have to come ’round this site to check for new posts (and find none). Instead, you’re updated a few minutes after I hit “publish” on this blog.

Please join as it’s really sad seeing only two followers (and I’m one of them, too). I just discovered there’s a small number of people already following my blog via Google Reader, though. I’m surprised. I thought I only had two visitors or something. Won’t you come out from lurking and introduce yourself? :)

Gone is my old, absurdly-named Cowcow Chicken Store Etsy shop! I’ve signed up for a new one, Notebooks, Etc., where we’re selling handmade spiral notebooks, notepads, stickers, stationery pads, and soon, graphic designed/illustrated tumblers!

These are just some of the notebooks we’re selling- recycled cereal box covers (because cereal boxes are so fun to look at) and covers with my own designs and illustrations. I started listing items two weeks ago and I’m happy to say I had my first seven sales today!

All buyers at my shop will receive free a free button pin with their order (until supplies last) as part of the store opening promo, but here’s another promo where no purchase is necessary.

Free PDF gift tags

Free PDF gift tags

I am making a print-your-own PDF of the gift tags pictured above available for download, FREE. All you have to do is go to my shop, go to the SHOP POLICIES page linked from the sidebar on the right, and search for a password somewhere on the first page (it’s very easy to spot). Once you have it, go to this post to type in the password and you will be given the instant download link. Save the PDF to your computer (you will need the free Adobe Reader to view the file) and print! These 3 x 2 tags are great for occasions such as birthdays, Valentine’s, or just to slip a quick hello to someone.

So what are you waiting for?
1. Go to my shop and view my shop policies (the link to the shop policies is on right sidebar of the shop)
2. Look for the password
3. Type in the password on this post!

Enjoy!

In fact, their packages have already been sent out! I’m talking about the buttons in my blog giveaway– the winners have been drawn using a random number generator and they are (in order drawn) Elizabeth from Michigan, Kris A., a former schoolmate and officemate (we worked in the same broadcasting company but in different departments– she was in Entertainment while I was in News), Alice from Ohio, and Cassie! (Cassie has yet to reply to my e-mail)

I sent out their button pins today (along with a little something thrown in). Congratulations! :) Thank you to all those who entered. Don’t worry, I had a little fun with the giveaway thing so I just might make it a semi-regular thing on my blog. I’m having a big batch of pins made for the Etsy shop and who knows, you might see another contest here in the coming months.

Happy Milk Button PinMonster Sushi Button Pin

These two guys were up at the shop for less than an hour when somebody came and snatched them up!

They’re on their way to North Carolina as I type this, to live with their new owner. I’m planning to list more of them over at Etsy but in the meantime, you can have a look at the other button pins available :)

Have a good week, everyone!

Illustration Friday: Sour (2)

It’s a sweet and slightly sour Lemon cupcake! With a bear face on it. I completely forgot I have this illustration of a “cupcake bear” which I only found while cleaning out my folders. I think this is going to be a good fit to Illustration Friday’s “sour” theme even though I’ve already submitted for this week.

Bears and cupcakes are among my favorite things so this is an unbeatable combination for me. This is just one of four related images I’m putting on stickers and button pins which are going on sale over at my Etsy shop– watch this space. I’ll announce it as soon as I have it. (If you have an RSS reader, you can also subscribe to my RSS feed for updates)

And speaking of button pins, the giveaway is still active– Leave a comment at the post to get the chance to win one of four button pins, free! Who doesn’t like free stuff?

And an update on my Threadless submission: 400+ votes in 1 day– keep them coming! I really appreciate the efforts of everyone who took the time to cast their vote! Thank you! :)
