My Cupcake Bears are a fusion of two of my favorite things: cupcakes, and bears. Cupcakes made a boom here locally about two or three years ago and are still going strong. My favorite cupcake place is Sonja’s Cupcakes in Serendra where I get my favorite Valrhona Chocolate cupcakes. Nom nom!

Anyway, this is a design I’ve had sitting around in some forgotten folder on my hard drive when I remembered I had it about a month ago. I took it out for a spin and reworked this illustration until I got what you see now in the picture above. I’ve since put these cupcake bears on various products on my Etsy shop and reception has been great.

It’s a sweet and slightly sour Lemon cupcake! With a bear face on it. I completely forgot I have this illustration of a “cupcake bear” which I only found while cleaning out my folders. I think this is going to be a good fit to Illustration Friday’s “sour” theme even though I’ve already submitted for this week.

Bears and cupcakes are among my favorite things so this is an unbeatable combination for me. This is just one of four related images I’m putting on stickers and button pins which are going on sale over at my Etsy shop– watch this space. I’ll announce it as soon as I have it.
