Pablo’s Circus

An invitation project I worked on before to fill up my illustration portfolio. I was approached by a client to illustrate a circus-themed birthday party invite for a one year-old. The client provided a photo of the birthday celebrant for the clown to resemble.

Jungle characters

Animals I designed for use as online game characters for the website of a children’s TV network in the UK. The brief was to have cute, friendly characters very small children can identify with.

Teachermates in the Philippines

I was happy for the chance to illustrate scenes with a very Filipino flavor for the graduate project of some Stanford MA students. These illustrations were used to accompany e-books for teaching young Filipino students in rural areas in the Philippines.

Sweetie Pies Boutique Bakery

This adorable boutique-style bakery selling cakes and cupcakes approached me for their branding. Rebecca, the owner, wanted a cute, sweet, and vintage look for her promotional postcard, logo, and various icons for use in their packaging and website. Their shop is located in Twickenham in London, England. Drop by if you’re in the area and eat a cupcake for me!

Easter Greeting Cards

Select work for Easter greeting cards designed for Tiny Prints, a stationery company based in San Francisco.

Manila: Do as the locals do

Available for sale as a framed print or canvas panel here, courtesy of They Draw and Travel / Great Big Canvas.

Spot the Difference

Select illustrated game scenes for a 2011 Hollywood movie website’s interactive games section. I can’t tell you what the movie is (non-disclosure agreements and such) but there are talking animals involved!

Do More of What Makes You Happy

A personal piece for my 2013 introductory postcard mailer featuring my cats and all of my favorite things.

A variety of colorful creatures created for online game characters targeted for very young children. They didn’t make it past the project pitch (the client went with a different set of characters I designed) but monsters these were a lot of fun to work on :)

A variety of tea cups, tea pots, and cupcakes in different designs and related tiling patterns for art licensing.

Sailing to Australia

“I’m sailing to Australia
In a cardboard box
But since I don’t have any sails
I’m using my old socks.

I’ve tied them all together,
So they may catch the breeze
And since I’ve used ten long pairs
I’ll be traveling with ease.”

An illustrated scene from an excerpt from the poem Sailing to Australia (unpublished), written by Alvaro Salinas Jr (M.M. Socks).
